"Why are so many players that hit the ball well and stylishly not able to win matches?"

There have been many times when we have knocked up with opponents before a match. They look great with perfectly shaped shots and hit well, but then during the match, they completely fall apart!

Why?

“The game was being made needlessly complicated.”

As we played and coached more, we came across juniors that we knew who were training supposedly full-time.

But the weird thing was that these kids at the age of fifteen were having their grips or playing styles messed about with by coaches who had never played at the top level themselves, but they apparently knew what was best for these kids.

There was a serious problem.

Players were being ‘over coached’ on technique and not how to win - which is the most important thing, right? 

So why were other countries so successful?

We were determined to find out. We had heard about this guy who had offered his services to the governing bodies of both the USA and the UK but was turned down, believing his data too radical, even though players like Gustavo Kuerten and Bjorn Borg had been advised by this him.

Being the inquisitive people that we are and therefore always welcome to new ideas about anything, we discovered Oscar Wegner (pictured here with John Littleford of modern tennis international).

Suddenly tennis became easy.  

We found that the fundamentals he was putting across were in complete contrast to the way we had been taught, but there was an element of logic and simplicity that we had never seen before.

We invited Oscar to personally teach us in our game, which he did.

We had never played so well. The sense of freedom was just incredible. We were able to play more instinctively than ever before. We became less conscious of our strokes and could focus on winning points.

John had played to a very high level indeed having represented the UK, but even he felt the chains of all his previous coaching had been lifted and he was able to express his natural ability.

“I’ve been playing for over thirty years. I am now playing my best tennis ever! I just don’t think about it anymore and feel I can deal with anything that comes my way!”

Oscar said to us; “Friends, here is the data, go and deliver this to everyone with a passion for tennis”

There was just one problem; it was all in a jumble. Oscar’s data had no step by step system, so how could people follow it?

So we filled in the holes and systemised Oscar’s data into a syllabus of courses and DVDs for all parents, players and coaches to follow.

Then we needed to test our new 'play modern tennis system' for ourselves.

The response was overwhelming! 

In just twelve months, we had taught this system to over 500 coaches. We had 100% approval – everybody loved it and many have became raving fans!

The Russian Revolution...

One of these satisfied customers was Tatiana Matokhniuk (pictured here). She was former coach to former world number 3 player; Nadia Petrova and Marcos Baghdatis.

When Tatiana saw our system, she said; “But this is how we teach in Russia. Surely doesn’t everyone teach this way?”

When she heard our answer, Tatiana just blew a fuse.

“What! This is ridiculous! No wonder we produce players and you don’t! You must insist this is the best way”

She then pointed to the course attendees all playing with their non-dominant hand to imitate beginner players. 

“You see, I can see beginners improve before my eyes. This method is amazing.” 

The David Lloyd Clubs joined the Play Modern Tennis revolution too...

When he saw our method, Ross Matheson (pictured with John Littleford of MTI) who is the Head UK Racquet Manager of David Lloyd Clubs; the largest leisure chain in Europe, asked us to train his top pros.

Ross saw this as a fast track method of teaching beginners to play tennis which of course it does. 

Ross played Wimbledon many times but didn't quite make the big time like so many British players. He says of the system....

"If I had learned to play tennis this way who knows what success I could have had. Everytime I pick a racquet up now I feel I can play my best stuff!"

Ross describes Modern Tennis International as the best in the business which is quite an accolade coming from the head of the biggest chain of tennis clubs in the world

who at the tender age of eight was hitting one handed backhands like Justine Henin.

Andy’s daughter was recently selected to represent her County yet she trains no more than once a week.
