Simple!

Thanks for a great course and my new found confidence on a back hand volley and single back hand revival.

I’d love to have more games based drills next time. I now feel confident at coaching this method.

After module 1. I had quite a few questions. This 2 day module 2 course has answered all of them.

Thanks for your hard work and positive input and encouragement."

I’ve never had the shot before in 40 years of trying –

ENOUGH SAID!”

Joe Lake

Joe Lake, LTA DCA Coach at North Oxford TC

"I've had so much success coaching with Modern Tennis methodology over the last year since I did your course and got the DVDs and I had to share this comment with you from a lady I have just started teaching. She said she had learnt more in just 3 lessons with me than the entire 2 years of coaching she had with her previous coach."

Anne Davies

Anne Davies,

Club player from   Leeds

"Using the see saw serve has now made my serve more powerful. Modern Tennis is very logical and structured and above all IT WORKS!"

Jack Trowbridge

Jack Trowbridge player and trainee coach from Shropshire I am just writing to say a huge thank you, for such a fantastic tennis course which you provided. It was great fun and it boosted my tennis levels up to heights which I thought were never reachable. Not only did the course improve my tennis, but also actually taught me how to teach, which was probably the most daunting prospect at the start of the week, but by the end seemed simple!! As the quote on the back of the DVD says, “it turns water into wine!!".
After doing the tennis course I have given family and a few family friends some lessons, and the improvement by simply using the modern tennis plan, is vast and soon I may have to stop giving Dad lessons as he seems to be getting a bit to good!!

Tanya's testimonial after completing Module 3

"PURE GOLD! In true MTI style the course was first class in its delivery and its essence of simplicity remains constant !

I find the simple lesson structure fits perfectly with the Modern Tennis methodology so each stage can be practiced and confidence gained before being used in a point situation.'

With this in mind and purely from a personal point of view I think this particular module could be very easily combined with module 1, so the initial concepts of Modern Tennis Progression could be learnt using the lesson structure format, it would help the participants master the progressions and remember them by associating them with particular elements of the lesson.

I did particularly like seeing a live example of a Mini Red lesson as it relates to what I do the most and I would love to see how you present all strokes for this age group."

Doing ‘The Right Thing’

We have all heard the phrase; “There’s not one way to coach tennis!” As a result much confusion reigns about how to teach the game. The eternal question then enters the coach’s head; “Am I doing the right thing??” Unfortunately, this is used at beginner/improver level as well as at performance level.

There are only so many ways to teach a player how to hit or where to hit or how hard to hit the tennis ball, together with how fast they can move on a tennis court.

After all, topspin is what it is. Slice is what it is. A split step is what it is. Having done our previous courses, you will now know just how easy these areas are to teach.

The Next level – Continuous Education

Now when it comes to taking a competent player to the very top, that’s a different matter all together!

This is where the phrase “There’s not one way to coach tennis!” should be applied.

We know that the Touring Pros all require different needs. This was epitomised by Andy Murray and Brad Gilbert. The success that Brad had with Andre Agassi and Andy Roddick was sensational! However having worked with Brad, Andy Murray decided it wasn’t for him and they parted company.

Does this make Brad a bad coach? Absolutely not.

Our Phase 2 will not be a definitive qualification. This will be a continuous educational path being demonstrated by coaches and players who have been at the level we seek the knowledge of.

That is just the start though! We as coaches and players have to find our own way here too by knowing ourselves or our players inside out. Training rituals and so on. One size does not fit all.

Phase 2 Course Requirements

  • Phase 2 will be a continuous syllabus in the form of workshops and forums delivered by various top Coaches and Players

To summarise our intentions

We, at Modern Tennis International, wish to continually supply the relevant information and advice from expert sources to all of our members, but at the end of the day, when taking young players on the ‘Challenger’, WTA or ATP Tour, it is a journey of discovery that you, the player and parents must travel.

Should you have any questions regarding our structure, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We look forward to seeing you very soon!
